We are currently looking for Senior Ruby on Rails to join one of our London based clients. The candidate will join the Shoreditch branch and work with both onshore and offshore development teams to architect, design, and scale the technology platform.
The successful candidate will have at least 5 years experience in a software development position, of which at least 2 years Ruby on Rails experience. And experience / knowledge on the following technologies :
Ruby, Rails, Sinatra, Linux, Apache, Passenger, SQL & MySQL, XML, JSON, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX, Git, Memcached and any related Ruby / Web Technologies.
TDD / BDD with Rail, Cucumer and RSpec
Cloud Computing Technologis including Amazon S3 and EC2 a plus
Other Desired skills / knowledge include :
Excellent leadership skills
Self starter able to propose and execute complex software development initiatives
Experience with Scrum or other Agile software development methodologies
Experience building and scaling an internet scale application
Expert in application troubleshooting, debugging, performance evaluation and tuning
Ability to mentor and collaborate with an offshore development team
Ability and willingness to refactor and improve the design of an existing code base, as well as work on greenfield projects
Active in the online or local Ruby, Rails, and open source communities
