Job Purpose
To provide a service of testing company, competitor and development products in line with testing schedules. To accurately report all findings, both verbally and by using the relevant documentation systems, abiding by the company Quality Management System, and at all times adhering to company safety regulations.

Job Accountabilities (or Key Tasks) and Job Content
 Carry out electrical testing to company and competitor products in accordance with the relevant product standard and/or specification and in line with UKAS/NAMAS procedures complying with IEC 17025, EN 45001 and M10 requirements.
 Carry out electrical testing of customer returns that fall into the category of field failures.
 Solve problems that arise during testing, ensuring that methods are applicable and optimized and offer the best possibility of identifying the true situation.
 Calibrate Production test samples.
 Maintain a working knowledge of current IEE wiring regulations. Keep up to date with new technologies and methodologies. Actively identify opportunities for accessing expert resources.
 Maintain an effective working relationship with other teams to consolidate effective channels of communication. Work as an effective team member, actively involved in multi-functional teams. Proactively offer personal expertise and seek opportunities to assist others.
 Ensure all relevant electrical safety standards are adhered to with respect to testing.
 Review all laboratory procedures in line with NAMAS guidelines with a view to maintaining and enhancing computerised recording systems.
 Provide technical support information, both internally and externally, as required.
 When requested to do so, represent the company on specific technical standards committees, laboratory meetings or other external meetings or events.

Decision Making Authority
Decision making authority over the following points which the Laboratory Team Leader would expect, without reference to them, or would accept recommendations if required:
• The outcome of a test or series of tests
• Preparation of testing time plans

Support is by way of:
• Personal Development Plan (PDP) meetings
• Team meetings
• Periodic formal and informal discussions


Quality

• Ensure that the Company Quality standards are maintained at all times as detailed in the Company Quality manual and as also specified in the Company standard operating procedures relating to your position
